I’m working on a completely new keyboard concept: each key has its own monochrome mini LED screen, capable of dynamically displaying any symbol, mode, or function.
The central idea is that the keyboard can automatically switch layouts depending on the user’s needs:
QWERTY
AZERTY
QWERTZ
DVORAK / COLEMAK
programming layouts
international languages (French, English, Japanese, Arabic, Russian, etc.)
The keys adapt in real time: the keyboard becomes alive, able to reconfigure itself instantly depending on the context or application.
Project Goal
I plan to manufacture this keyboard within a 10‑year window, when the required technologies will have dropped significantly in price:
mini LED screens will be 3 to 5 times cheaper,
flexible PCBs will be fully standardized,
low‑power microcontrollers will be even more affordable,
Asian manufacturing will allow components to be obtained at very low cost.
This technological window will make the project realistic, profitable, and ready for industrial production.
